Menopause & Liver Function Treatment (Placenta Injection)

Menopause & Liver Function Treatment (Placenta Injection)

At Tokyo Relife Clinic, we offer placenta injection treatments using active ingredients extracted from human placenta. In addition to amino acids, vitamins, and minerals, placenta contains a rich amount of growth factors that promote cell growth and differentiation. Our clinic uses Laennec, a genuine product manufactured in Japan and approved by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare as a therapeutic drug for chronic liver disease.

Originally, this is a pharmaceutical product intended for the improvement of liver function. However, due to its cell-activating and blood circulation-promoting properties, it is utilized in private practice (non-covered/self-pay treatment) for a wide range of purposes, such as alleviating menopausal symptoms, relieving fatigue, and providing aging care (improving skin firmness and radiance).

Stem Cell Therapy: A New Approach for Liver Dysfunction and Menopause Symptoms

While placenta injections are an excellent treatment for easily incorporating growth factors, they come with certain drawbacks. These include a short duration of effect requiring frequent clinic visits, and the restriction on blood donations because the product is derived from human tissue.

To address these limitations, Tokyo Relife Clinic offers regenerative medicine using your own stem cells as an option for a more long-term and fundamental approach. Because this treatment involves culturing and administering your own cells, the risk of allergic reactions or unknown infectious diseases is extremely low, and there are no restrictions on donating blood. The repair factors and growth factors secreted by the stem cells (paracrine effect) provide continuous action, aiming for the fundamental improvement of chronic ailments.

Tokyo Relife Clinic provides stem cell therapy as a medical institution whose provision plan has been officially accepted in accordance with the Act on the Safety of Regenerative Medicine established by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW).

Precautions for Patients Requesting Prescriptions / Treatments

Disclosure regarding Unapproved and Off-Label Drugs: The use of Laennec at our clinic for menopausal symptoms, aesthetic purposes, and fatigue recovery is an "off-label use" that has not been approved under the Japanese PMDA (Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Act) for these specific indications.

Disclosure regarding Sourcing and Procurement Channels: We procure our Laennec supplies through authorized domestic pharmaceutical wholesalers in Japan.

Availability of Domestically Approved Alternative Treatments: While alternative placenta-derived products with different active ingredients (such as Melsmon) are domestically approved in Japan for treating menopausal disorders, our clinic does not carry them. Please note that there are no placenta-derived products approved in Japan for aesthetic/cosmetic purposes.

Safety and Efficacy Status in Other Countries: Serious adverse effects such as shock and anaphylactoid symptoms have been reported. Additionally, because this product contains proteins and amino acids derived from human tissue, the risk of transmitting infectious agents, including variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (vCJD), cannot be theoretically excluded with absolute certainty.

Disclosure regarding Exclusion from Official Relief Systems: When this product is used off-label, it is not eligible for coverage under the Japanese Adverse Drug Reaction Relief System or the Relief System for Infections Acquired through Biological Products.
