Leading the Next Generation of Regenerative Medicine: Our R&D Projects

At Tokyo Relife Clinic, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficacy in cell therapy. Alongside our daily clinical practice, we actively advance Research and Development (R&D) through our in-house Cell Processing Center (CPC) and frontline researchers.

Through rigorous, evidence-based quality control and senolytic (senescent cell clearance) technologies, we are driving the following initiatives:

1. Improving Cell Quality Throughout the Manufacturing Process

We are developing Quality Control (QC) and release tests using senescence biomarkers to continuously monitor and improve cell quality throughout the entire manufacturing process.

2. Establishing Safety and Quality Testing Protocols

We are building a comprehensive inspection framework utilizing pathogen detection systems and senescence biomarkers for QC/release testing, ensuring the utmost safety and quality of our cell products.

3. Research on Urine-Derived Mesenchymal and Pluripotent Stem Cells

We are exploring and applying urine as a novel cell source, aiming to characterize the properties of urine-derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) and urine-derived pluripotent stem cells, and to establish culture techniques for both.

4. Establishing Methods for Senescent Cell Removal

Using senolytic technology, we aim to selectively remove senescent (aging) cells, significantly improving the quality and therapeutic efficacy of our cell products.

5. Senolytic Ex Vivo Pre-Treatment of Cell Products

We are developing a conditioning technology that removes senescent cells ex vivo (outside the body) before administration, aiming to maximize treatment efficacy and ensure patient safety.

6. In-House "Aging Burden" Testing Services

We are working to bring in-house a testing service that evaluates "aging burden," aiming to put it into practical use as a quality indicator for our cell products.
