Launch of Japan's First Stem Cell Clinical Research

On December 23, 2024, Tokyo Relife Clinic (TRC) convened the "Ethics Review Committee for Clinical Research and Other Studies" and initiated Japan's first clinical research to evaluate the efficacy and safety of stem cell-derived supernatants and exosomes. While these technologies are already used in medical settings, further scientific validation is required to establish their effectiveness and safety.

This research will commence in January 2025, involving 60 patients, with a focus on safety. The results are expected to be reported in June 2025.

Chief Director: Dr. Masashi Ishikawa

Dr. Masashi Ishikawa graduated from the University of Tokushima's Faculty of Medicine and earned a Ph.D. in Medicine from its graduate school. He has gained extensive experience in both domestic and international medical institutions, including Australia, Vietnam, and Shanghai. Dr. Ishikawa has held prominent positions such as Clinical Professor at the University of Tokushima and Ehime University, making significant contributions to research in regenerative medicine, liver transplantation, and hepatobiliary-pancreatic surgery.

Known as a leader in Japanese medicine, he holds numerous specialist certifications, including those from the Japan Anti-Aging Medical Society, the Japan Society of Gastroenterological Surgery, the Japan Surgical Society, and the Japan Society of Hepatology. Internationally recognized for his expertise, Dr. Ishikawa has received numerous accolades, including the Bronze Prize at "The Second Congress of the International Society for Experimental Microsurgery" and "The 1996 C. William Hall Outstanding Publication Award." He is renowned for his accomplishments in the field of anti-aging medicine.
